God, Exalted and Majestic, sees the sins of His creation and what they do, and He conceals them with His mercy.
A neighbor, however, does not see what his neighbor does, yet he speaks angrily about him without justification.
We seek refuge in God! If people knew the unseen,
no one would be safe from another’s harm
(The earth would be too small for people, and no one would find peace from anyone else)
The precise meaning: There is a beautiful contrast between God’s attribute of “concealing sins” and the neighbor’s attribute of “meddling.” God sees faults and conceals them with His mercy, while the neighbor sees nothing but fills the world with noise and shouting (mī-khrūshd) with ill thoughts.
Arabic Translation
الله جَل وعلا يَرى ذنوب الخلقِِ وما يفعلون، ويَسترهم بلطفهِِ، والجار لا يرى ما يفعلهُ جاره، ولكنهُ يَتحدث بَغضبٍ على جاره بدون وجه حقٍ
نعوذ بالله، لو كان الخَلقُ يَعلمون الغيب
ما سلمَ أحدٌ من يد أحد آخر
/ لضاقت بالناس الأرضُ وما استراحَ أحدٌ من أحدٍ

هناك تقابل بديع بين صفة الله “الستّار” وصفة الجار الفضولي
الله يرى العيوب فيسترها بلطفه، بينما الجار لم يرَ شيئاً ولكنه يملأ الدنيا ضجيجاً وصراخاً (میخروشد) بالظن السوء
