The incompetent/ignorant/foolish cannot face the learned, nor can they bear to look at them, just as stray dogs/city dogs face a skilled hunting dog, but do not dare approach or confront it.
That is, the foolish (ignorant) person, when unable to compete with the learned in knowledge, resorts to malicious acts against them, but with a deceptive appearance.
The envious person, incapable of confrontation, will inevitably resort to backbiting (slandering the other party whom they cannot face directly) because they cannot do so face to face (they are speechless when confronted by the learned person and cannot respond or answer).
Or, in more concise terms: “Those incapable of creativity cannot bear to see the one who possesses merit; just like stray dogs, they bark at the sight of the hunting dog, but don’t dare approach it. For the fool, unable to rival the noble in nobility, resorts to the malice of backbiting. The envious one is short-handed and helpless; his tongue is long in absence, but he becomes mute in confrontation.
Arabic Translation
عديمي الأهلية/ عديمي العلم/ الجُّهال/ الجَهلة، لا يستطيعوا مواجهة ذوي العلمِ ولا يطيقوا النظر اليهم، تماما كما أن كِلاب السوقِ/كلاب المدينةِ، تواجه كلب الصيدِ المُحترف، و لكن لا تجرؤ على الاقترابِ منه أو مواجهتهِ
أي، السَفيه (الجاهل) عندما لا يَستطيع مُنافسة ذوي العلِم في العلمِ، يَلجأ إلى عمل بخبث ضدهم، ولكن بمظهر مخادع
الحسود الغير قادر على المواجهةِ، حتما سوف يلجأ للغيبةِ (غيبة الطرف الاخر الذي لا يقوى على مواجهتهِ)
لأنه لا يستطيع فعل ذلك وجهاً لوجه (يبتلع لسانه عند مواجهة العالِم ولا يستطيع الرد أو الاجابة)
أو بلغة أكثر إختصاراً
العاجزونَ عن الإبداعِ لا يطيقونَ رؤيةَ صاحبِ الفضلِ؛ تماماً ككلابِ الأسواقِ تضجُّ بالنباحِ عند رؤيةِ كلبِ الصيدِ لكنها لا تجرؤُ على الدنوِّ منه
فالسفيهُ إذا عجزَ عن منافسةِ الكريمِ في نُبلهِ، لجأَ إلى خُبثِ الغيبةِ؛ فالحسودُ قصيرُ اليدِ/قليل الحيلةِ، يطولُ لسانُه في الغيابِ ويصبحُ أخرساً في المواجهةِ

بیهنران، هنرمند را نتوانند که بینند، همچنان که سگان بازاری سگ صید را مشغله برآرند و پیش آمدن نیارند
یعنی، سفله چون به هنر با کسی برنیاید، به خبثش در پوستین افتد
کند هر آینه غیبت حسود کوته دست
که در مقابله گنگش بود زبان مقال
