A person who does good to people will not meet evil
Whoever does evil will not receive good
He who begins to do evil falls into his evil
Like a scorpion that rarely returns home
(Because scorpions sting people, humans kill these scorpions whenever they see them. Very few of these scorpions return home safely)
If you are not in your nature to be of benefit to people
You and the solid stone, which has no soul, are the same
However, I made a mistake in saying (Saadi), my good-natured friend
”Iron, hard stone and copper are beneficial to people”
As for this dead-hearted person, he is a disgrace to humanity
Because hard stone has a virtue, it is better than him
Not every son of Adam is better than a beast (animal, without reason)
The beast is better than the evil son of Adam
A man with reason, a wise man, is better than a beast (animal, without reason)
The person who stirs up evil among people is like a beast (like an animal that harms people).
When a person only knows how to eat and sleep
What virtue does he have over animals
(animals that only eat and sleep and stir up evil among people)?
The unfortunate passenger, who is not on the right path
(even though he has the means to get him to the destination he wants, he has a means of transportation, yet he is not guided to the right path, as he does not have a mind to take him to his goal)
The one who walks on foot, but has a mind and wisdom that will lead him to the goal, will arrive before him
No one planted the seeds of chivalry and kindness
Ultimately he reaps from it a harvest that pleases his heart
(good deeds bring goodness to its doer)
We have never heard it in our entire lives, that an evil man, his evil deed brought good to him
Arabic Translation
الشخص المُحسن للناس لن يَلقى شراً
فالذي يَفعل شراً، لن يَلقى خَيراً
الذي يبدأ بفعل الشر، يقع في شرهِ
كالعَقرب التي قلما تعود لبيتها
(لأن العقرب تلدغ الناس، فالخَلق تقتل هذه العقارب كلما رأتها، قليل جدا من هذه العقارب تعود لبيتها سالمة)
إن لم يَكن في طَبعكَ نفع للناسِ
فأنتَ، والحجر الصلد، الذي بلا روح، سيان
مع ذلك، لقد أخطأتُ في القولِ (سعدي)، يا صَديقي طَيب الخلق
ففي الحَديد، الحَجر الصلد والنحاس نَفعٌ للناسِ
أما هذا الإنسان المَيت القلب، فهو عَارٌ على البشرية
لأن للحجر القاسي فضيلةً، أفضل نفعاً منه
فليس كل ابن آدم خَيراً من الوحشِ (الحيوان، بلا عقل)
فإن الوحش خَيرٌ من ابن آدم الشرير
الإنسان ذو العقل، الحكيم، خيرٌ من الوحش (الحيوان، بلا عقل)
لا الإنسان الذي يثير الشر بين الناس كالوحش (كالحيوان الذي يؤذي الناس)
فعندما لا يَعرف الإنسان سوى الأكل والنوم
فأي فَضيلة لهُ، على الدوابِ (الحيوانات التي تأكل وتنام فقط وتثير الشر بين الناس)؟
فالرَاكب المَنحوس، الذي لا يسير في الطريق الصحيح (رغم امتلاكه الوسيلة لإيصاله للوجه التي يريدها، لديه وسيلة تنقله، مع ذلك لا يهتدي للطريق الصحيح، حيث لا يمتلك عقلا يوصله لهدفه)
فالذي يمشي راجلاً، بدون أي وسيلة، لكن لديه عقل وحكمه توصله للهدف، سوف يصل قبل الراكب
لم يَزرع أحدٌ بُذور المُروءة والطِيبة
إلا وحَصد منها حصاداً يرضاه قلبه (عمل الخير، يعود على صاحبه بالخير)
فلم نَسمع أبداً طوال عُمرنا
بأن رَجلاً شريراً، عاد عمله الشرير بالخير عليه

نکوکار مردم نباشد بدش
نورزد کسی بد که نیک افتدش
شر انگیز هم بر سر شر شود
چو کژدم که با خانه کمتر شود
اگر نفع کس در نهاد تو نیست
چنین گوهر و سنگ خارا یکی است
غلط گفتم ای یار شایسته خوی
که نفع است در آهن و سنگ و روی
چنین آدمی مرده به ننگ را
که بر وی فضیلت بود سنگ را
نه هر آدمی زاده از دد به است
که دد ز آدمی زادهٔ بد به است
به است از دد انسان صاحب خرد
نه انسان که در مردم افتد چو دد
چو انسان نداند به جز خورد و خواب
کدامش فضیلت بود بر دواب؟
سوار نگون بخت بی راهرو
پیاده برد ز او به رفتن گرو
کسی دانهٔ نیکمردی نکاشت
کز او خرمن کام دل برنداشت
نه هرگز شنیدیم در عمر خویش
که بدمرد را نیکی آمد به پیش
