The Security and livelihood of the Dervish

Do not say that there is no position better or more exalted than sultanate and kingship, but, the security and comfort of the carefree life of the poor is greater than the land of the king and his kingdom.

For those who are freed from the shackles of subservience, sins, heavy responsibilities, and material attachments, walk with ease and tranquility on the path of life and death, and attain perfection (referring to the ascetics and the gnostics) This is the truth, so let the wise hear it

The poor man carries only the worry of a loaf of bread (his daily sustenance), while the ruler of the people carries far greater burdens.

If the poor man receives his night’s sustenance, he will sleep peacefully, just as the sultan sleeps.

This applies equally to those who wear a crown upon their heads, or to the poor subject of the king

Or even to those who attain his high rank, honor and greatness, were elevated to the highest possible level (the seventh heaven/Saturn), or he was impoverished in prison.

Then, when the appointed time of each of them comes, it will be impossible to distinguish one from the other.

The Holy Quran: {And for every nation is a term appointed. So when their term comes, they cannot delay it for an hour, nor can they advance it.}

Arabic Translation

لا تَقل أنه لا يَوجد مَنصب أفضل أو أسمى من السَلطنةِ والمُلك
ولكن أمان وراحة حَياة الفقراء الخالية من الهموم أعظم من أرض المَلك ومملكتهِ

فأن من تحرروا من قيود التَبعية والذُنوب والمسؤوليات الجسام والتعلقات المادية، يسيرون بيسر وهدوء في درب الحياة والموت، ويبلغون الكمال (يقصد الزهاد والعارفين)
هذه هي الحقيقة، فليسمعها الحُكماء

فالفقير يَحمل هَمّ رغيف خبز فقط (قوت يومهِ)
أما حَاكم الرعية، فيحمل هُموماً بَقدر أعظم بكثير

فالفقير إذا نَال قُوت ليلتهِ
فسينام هانئاً، كما يَنام السلطان

الحُزن والسُرور كلاهما سيمضيان
فعند الموتِ كلاهما يودعا الجسد

على حدٍ سواء، من وضعوا تاجاً على رؤوسهم
أو من كان فقيراً تابعاً من رعية المَلك

أو حتى من وصل سُموه، شَرفه وعَظمتهِ إلى أعلى مستوى ممكن (السماء السابعة/زُحل)
أو كان فقيراً في السجن

فأذا جَاء أجل كل منهما
فلا يمكن تَمييز أحدهما عن الآخر

القرأن الكريم: {وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌ فَإِذَا جَاءَ أَجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةً وَلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ}

مگو جاهی از سلطنت بیش نیست

که ایمن‌تر از ملک درویش نیست

سبکبار مردم سبک‌تر روند

حق این است و صاحبدلان بشنوند

تهیدست تشویش نانی خورد

جهانبان به قدر جهانی خورد

گدا را چو حاصل شود نان شام

چنان خوش بخسبد که سلطان شام

غم و شادمانی به سر می‌رود

به مرگ این دو از سر به در می‌رود

چه آن را که بر سر نهادند تاج

چه آن را که بر گردن آمد خراج

اگر سرفرازی به کیوان بر است

وگر تنگدستی به زندان در است

چو خیل اجل بر سر هر دو تاخت

نمی شاید از یکدگرشان شناخت
