When hesitant to sign (or take action), choose the path that will cause the least harm.
Be gentle and kind to people, and avoid harsh words.
And when someone greets you with peace, don’t seek conflict (don’t ignore them).
When you want gold, it’s not fair to throw yourself into danger, as the Arabs say: “The last resort is the sword.”
When all other avenues for a solution are exhausted, resorting to the sword to resolve the problem is ultimately the best solution (it becomes permissible, not forbidden, as fighting between Muslims is prohibited).
Arabic Translation
عند التَرددِ في إمضاء (توقيع أو عمل) أمرِ، أختر الجَانب الذي يَكون مُنه أقلُ ضررٍ
مع الناسِ كُن سَهل الطباعِ، ولا تَقل كَلاماً قاسياً
ومع من يُلقي عَليك السلام، لا تَبحث عن حربٍ معه (لاتتجاهله)
عندما تُريد الحصول على الذهب ليس من الإنصاف بأن تَرمي نفسكَ بالتهلكةِ، حيث يقول العَربي: آخِرُ الحِیَلِ السَّیفُ
عندما تَنقطع كل السُبل لإيجاد حَل
فاللجوء للسيف لحل المشكلة في النهاية هو الحل الأمثل (يصبح الامر حلالاً وليس من المُحرمات، حيث يُحرم القتال بين المسلمين)

چون در امضای کاری مُتردد باشی آن طرف اختیار کن که بی آزارتر بر آید
با مردم سهل خوی دشخوار مگوی
با آن که در صلح زند جنگ مجوی
تا کار به زر برمیآید جان در خطر افکندن نشاید، عرب گوید: آخِرُ الحِیَلِ السَّیفُ
چو دست از همه حیلتی در گسست
حلال است بردن به شمشیر دست
