Listen to this young tree now,
Beneath the wound of the axe’s blows, what it says:
For every plant they uproot, in its place
A rebellious forest will grow.
O executioner of the young cedar!
You who have made the axe your eternal companion,
Stay, until the day comes when we uproot you from your roots!
Arabic Translation
اسمع هذا الشَجر الفَتيّ الآن
تَحت جُرح ضربات الفأس، ماذا يقول
كل نَبتةٍ يَقتلعونها، مكانها
غابةٌ مُتمردةٌ تَنمو
يا جلاد الأرز الفتي!
يا من جعلت الفأس رفيقك للأبد
ابقَ، حتى يأتي اليوم الذي نَقتلعك فيه من جذورك

بشنو اکنون که زیر زخم تبر
این درخت جوان چه میگوید
هر نهالی که برکنند، به جاش
جنگلی سرکشیده ، میروید
های جلاد سروهای جوان
ای رفیق همیشه ی تیشه
باش تا برکنیم ات از ریشه
