The arrogant person who sees himself as greater than they are

Whoever fights against the bigger one (argues/antagonizes) makes their blood permissible for others to shed (for revenge).

You think yourself great
Then, they were right when they said: A one-eyed person sees two people (a one-eyed person sees two people in front of them, not one, as is normal for those with two eyes, this means they see things as bigger than their actual size/position)

You will soon see with your own eyes a shattered forehead,
when you challenge a fearless ram.

The deeper meaning

The arrogant person who sees themselves as greater than they are is “blind in vision” because they see two illusions instead of reality.

Whoever thinks themselves an equal to those greater than them in stature or strength is like someone trying to butt heads with a “courageous ram”; the result will not be victory, but a “shattered forehead.”

Arrogance is a blindness of the mind that makes you misjudge the size of your opponent.

Persian text

هرکه با بزرگان ستیزد، خون خود ریزد

خویشتن را بزرگ پنداری
راست گفتند یک دو بیند لوچ

زود بینی شکسته پیشانی
تو که بازی کنی به سر با قوچ
