بدونك، البيت موحش، وصمته صارخٌ

الليل مُضطرب، وزهرتنا منسيّة في الركام

لا ملاذ لي سوى النوم،

فهذه الليلة خلف النافذة، نصبت كمينها أمام وجهي

ليلة محمومة، مرّة، بلا نجم،

هي ذاتها ليلة الغربة والفراقِ

حتى تهويدتي (تهويدة النوم) ضاع معناها من أجلك،

في غيابك، أقمت مجلساً للحزنِ،

وشكوت حالي وبكيت أمام كل نجمِ،
