The question should be asked at the right time

Everything you want to know will inevitably become clear to you, so do not rush to ask about it, for that diminishes the prestige of the one of higher standing. (And likewise, it diminishes the standing of the one who asks, because it will reveal the extent of one’s ignorance and haste in asking.)

(Meaning, the question should be asked at the right time, not in haste. One can wait until the appropriate time to ask, and the answer will be complete.)

When Luqman the Wise saw that the iron in the hand of the Prophet David melted like wax, by a miracle, he did not ask what he was doing, for he knew that the matter would become clear without asking.
