The human is the noblest of creatures in this world, and the dog the lowest in creation, yet the wise have unanimously agreed that a grateful dog is better than an ungrateful human.
A dog never forgets the kindness of a morsel of food, even if you strike it with a hundred stones.
But a mean person, even if you treat him with kindness for a lifetime, will quarrel with you over the most trivial mistake.
Arabic Translation
الإنسانُ أسمى الخلائقِ مَظهراً، والكلبُ أحقرُها خِلْقةً، ولكنّ الحكماءَ أجمعوا على أنّ كلباً شاكراً خيرٌ من إنسانٍ جاحِد
الكلبُ لا ينسى مَودةَ اللقمةِ وإن ضربتَه مئةَ حَجرٍ
أما اللئيمُ فلو أكَرمتَه دهراً، لخاصمَكَ في أتفهِ هَفوة

اَجَلّ کائنات از روی ظاهر آدمیست، و اَذلّ موجودات سگ، و به اتّفاقِ خردمندان، سگِ حقشناس بِه از آدمی ناسپاس
سگی را لقمهای هرگز فراموش
نگردد ور زنی صَد نوبتش سنگ
و گر عمری نوازی سفلهای را
به کمتر تندی آید با تو در جنگ
