English Translation
Torment my heart or make it happy; heal my heart or wound it as you please.
By the One whom there is none like, and whom no one has ever loved as I loved you.
If my heart ever accepts anyone other than you, I do not want it, I utterly reject it!
You possess me if you wish, and you possess me even if you refuse.
You enchant me when you speak, and you enchant me when you remain silent.
I am but a star orbiting in your celestial path, and the very light of my eyes is derived from your bright day.
Indeed, you are my heart and everything that lives within it.
You are the most precious one who has ever abandoned me, and the most beautiful of all that goes absent.
By God, even if your distance oppresses and crushes me, I want no beloved other than you.
Travel wherever you wish, for my heart is your permanent home;
I am content with both your cold ice and your burning fire. Love my heart, or even hate it.
I love you, do not fear—except if your heart loves me [only out of pity].
This is my weakness and my confession, but I will never accept my own degradation.
Go far away, for this is your free decision; I am not your prison, nor am I your siege.
Go and do whatever your soul desires.
Explaining:
ما أبيه: A Gulf Arabic expression meaning “I don’t want him” or “I reject him and disown him.” Its use here with the heart (“If my heart were to accept someone other than you, I wouldn’t want him”) reflects the pinnacle of loyalty; the lover is ready to tear out his heart and abandon it if his soul tempts him to love another.
داوي قلبي وأجرحيه / عذبيه، أسعديه: Contradictory pairs expressing the lover’s acceptance of all states of his beloved; pain and healing, torment and happiness, are all equal and sweet as long as they come from her.
تُملكيني لو بغيتي / لو رفضتي: An acknowledgment of voluntary servitude to love; the beloved holds the reins of his heart, whether she desires it or resists.

ماني سجنك أو حصارك: This is a declaration of the principle of “absolute freedom” in love. True love does not imprison the partner or restrict their steps, but rather gives them wings to soar wherever they wish.

The lover oscillates between complete submission and self-sovereignty; he grants his beloved absolute authority over his heart (“Torment me, make me happy”), and declares his eternal devotion, binding his existence to her spiritual orbit.
