English Translation

I have utterly failed to find patience;

The song “Your Time Took You” presents a philosophy of complete emotional collapse and surrender to the power of absence. “عقبك حياتي والممات متساوي”: the pinnacle of emotional nihilism; things lose their value and meaning entirely with the beloved’s absence, until the pulse of life becomes indistinguishable from the stillness of death in the lover’s eyes.

زولك معي دايم: In the authentic Najdi and Saudi dialect, “Zool” refers to the image and visible form of a person. The meaning is that the beloved’s image and visual form are always present in his mind’s eye, never leaving it.

خذاك الوقت غصب ووداك: “Ghasb” means forcibly and against one’s will. Time here is personified as a stubborn and powerful adversary that snatches the beloved from the lover’s grasp and carries her far away.

لا الهم تاركني ولا الوقت ياوي: “Yaawi” is derived from “ma’wa” (refuge) and “ra’fa” (compassion). Here, the duality of suffering is highlighted; inner sorrow is his constant companion, while external time moves on harshly and coldly, showing no mercy or granting him a moment of warmth and connection.

سوالفك صارت بصوتي غناوي: A rhetorical image of exquisite tenderness and beauty. Where ordinary conversations and stories (“your chats”) they once shared transform into poignant melodies and songs, sung by the lover’s voice to ward off the loneliness of solitude.
