They saw Sheikh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani (may God have mercy on him) in the sanctuary of the Ka’aba, his face pressed against the pebbles, saying: “O Lord, forgive me. If I deserve punishment, then send me blind on the Day of Resurrection, so that I may not feel shame before the righteous because of my sin.
I place my face upon the dust, helpless and humble, and I say:
Every morning, when the east wind blows, I say: O You whom I never forget,
don’t forget Your servant, O my God?”
Arabic Translation
رأوا الشيخ عبد القادر الجيلاني (رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَیْهِ
) في حرمُ الكعبةِ وقد وضعَ وجههُ على الحصى، ويقول: «يا ربّ اغفر لي، وإن كُنتُ مُستحقّاً للعقوبةِ فأبعثني يوم القيامة أعمى، حتى لا أشعر بالخجلِ (العار) أمام وجوه الصالحين (بسبب ذنبي)
أضع وجهي على الترابِ عاجزاً (عدم القدرة، الذل والتواضع) وأقول
في كل صباحٍ، حين تَهبُّ الريح (رياح الصَبا)
(أقول) يا من لا أنساك أبداً
فهل تنسى عبدك، يا ألهي؟

عبدالقادرِ گیلانی را، رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَیْهِ، دیدند در حرمِ کعبه روی بر حَصْبا نهاده، همیگفت: ای خداوند! ببخشای! وگر هرآینه مستوجب عقوبتم؛ در روزِ قیامتم نابینا برانگیز تا در رویِ نیکانْ شرمسار نشوم
روی بر خاکِ عجز، میگویم
هر سحرگه که باد میآید
ای که هرگز فرامشت نکنم
هیچت از بنده یاد میآید؟
